Tom Jarman

Tom joined Mæ as director in 2022 and is responsible for several ongoing housing projects within the practice, as well as being an active contributor to the creative and technical leadership of projects across the Mæ portfolio.

Tom focuses both on front-end, macro level design, and on the resolution of fine-scale technical detail. In addition to project work, Tom is a key contributor into Mæ’s ongoing research and development work. Tom leads Mæ Zero, a core initiative that focuses on environmental design principles, bringing specific focus to the application of low embodied carbon materials, along with the development of designs that reduce energy use intensity in the running of buildings.

In addition to his housing experience, Tom has led projects across a diverse range of sectors including masterplanning, heritage regeneration, education, arts and culture.
