We have designed landmark housing opposite Channel 4’s HQ in Westminster for developer Pegasus Life. The scheme provides 39 flats on six floors together with communal kitchen-café, storage areas, wellness centre/spa, guest accommodation, and apartments for staff.

The building offers high quality living spaces that prioritise wellness and living in an urban setting.

Chimes has all the benefits of the city on its doorstep, providing new homes alongside a landscaped courtyard, shared amenity, dining spaces and a wealth of other services and facilities designed to the standard of the best London clubs and hotels, ensuring residents are able to enjoy life fully.

The building has intricate bronzed metalwork and lime green, hand pressed, textured glazed bricks. Cast bronzed screens on the ground floor control views, light and privacy. The façades are designed to high thermal and acoustic performance.

The building design is expected to obtain a 7% reduction in CO2 emissions through utilising renewable energy sources, along with a further 13% reduction through good active and passive design measures.

Chimes shortlisted for the Inside Housing Development Awards 2021 Project Update

Our later living project in Westminster for PegasusLife, Chimes, has been shortlisted in the Best Older People's Housing Development category at the 2021 Inside Housing Development Awards.
Older people’s homes have been in the spotlight this year more than ever before. Throughout this time, and as the population ages, the need for well-designed homes for older people becomes ever more important. This award recognises homes for older people that are desirable, safe, accessible and are well designed to meet current and future care and support needs.
Chimes provides 39 assisted living flats on six floors together with communal kitchen-café, storage areas, wellness centre/spa, guest accommodation, and apartments for staff.

Chimes shortlisted for a Housing Design Award Project Update

Chimes, our later living project with PegasusLife has been shortlisted for the Housing Design Awards 2021.

The Housing Design Awards are the only awards promoted by all 5 major professional institutions – RICS, RIBA, RTPI, Landscape Institute and Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

Winning projects will be announced at a ceremony towards the end of the year.

Chimes completes Project Update

Chimes, our later living project in Westminster for retirement specialists Pegasus Life, has now completed. The landmark retirement home opposite Channel 4’s HQ provides 36 assisted living flats on six floors together with a communal kitchen, storage areas, wellness centre/spa, guest accommodation, and apartments for staff.

Four Mæ projects shortlisted for the New London Awards 2017 Project Update

Four schemes by Mæ have been shortlisted for New London Awards 2017. Our 2,161 home Grahame Park Estate Regeneration scheme in Colindale for Genesis Housing and London Borough of Barnet has been shortlisted in the Masterplans & Area Strategies category. Grenadier House retirement housing in Westminster for PegasusLife and The John Morden Centre a day care in Blackheath for Morden College have both been shortlisted in the Wellbeing category. Whilst two of our Croydon schemes have been recognised in the Housing shortlist as part of the Croydon Smaller sites joint submission by Brick by Brick. Winners and commended schemes will be announced at the annual NLA Lunch on the 5th of July.

That's Not Me Practice News

Exploring the idea of “London living for a generation defined by who they are, not how old they are”, That's Not Me is an exhibition by PegasusLife that illustrates an alternative approach to building for the New Generation of retirees. The exhibition features Mæ's Grenadier House alongside projects by Duggan Morris Architects and Sergison Bates. At the NLA, The Building Centre, 26 Store Street London WC1E 7BT from Monday 3 October – Friday 28 October.

Grenadier House commences on site Project Update

Demolition works have begun in connection with site preparation for Grenadier House, our retirement home for Pegasus Life. The scheme in the heart of historic Westminster, close to Vincent Square, will provide 36 assisted living flats together with communal kitchen-café, wellness centre/spa and guest accommodation. It is due for completion in Spring 2018

Our latest residential project in Westminster, Grenadier House, has successfully received planning permission. The assisted living scheme for Pegasus Life will provide 36 flats designed to HAPPI housing principles.
