Our design for a health centre and residential scheme in South Kilburn is about city-making, about connecting the historic context with the new development.
It is a project about distinct foreground architecture in the form of the health centre as well as carefully designed background architecture in the form of the housing. It is about creating an attractive place that will prove popular and stand the test of time.
The residential numbers required demand high densities and we have carefully managed heights to respect the surroundings and allow sunlight into the gardens and homes.
The proposal establishes a major piece of urban ecology based around a new public space linked to the existing Kilburn Park.
The scheme addresses the multiple demands of a sustainable development, including efficiency and performance, health and wellbeing, amenity and play, ecology and micro-climate, intergenerational and mixed-tenure housing, all helping to create a sense of community.
