We are working with the London Borough of Barnet and local organisations to create a new health centre, nursery, café and community space for the residents of Grahame Park in Colindale, London. The civic building forms the centrepiece of the regenerated neighbourhood.

As well as accommodating a GP surgery and clinical services on upper floors the building includes space for social events and performances in the double storey ground floor hall.

The building has a bold abstract form and is clad in horizontal bands of clear glass and translucent white recycled glass.

Designed to front onto a new public square and be visible from Heybourne Park the distinct building provides facilities for the area’s diverse community and will form a neighbourhood hub.

We have designed the building as a pavilion with a series of public rooms that each connect to an outdoor space and have aspect vertically through the building.

Mæ submits 1000 home scheme for planning Project Update

We have submitted for planning our Grahame Park regeneration scheme. Grahame Park is the largest housing estate in Barnet, north-west London. Mæ is acting as masterplanner and lead architects on its regeneration.

Having worked closely with the local authority, the residents and the housing association, our plans for the latest phase of the regeneration will comprise 1,083 homes of mixed-tenure as well as a library, an Anglican Church, community hub, health centre, children’s centre and local retail and commercial units.

Planning marks the culmination of five years of work, having started with a commission to review a stalled project. We are pleased to have been able to develop a new vision for the estate, subsequently working to progress the project to planning – building on our ideas of a ‘place of type'.

Four Mæ projects shortlisted for the New London Awards 2017 Project Update

Four schemes by Mæ have been shortlisted for New London Awards 2017. Our 2,161 home Grahame Park Estate Regeneration scheme in Colindale for Genesis Housing and London Borough of Barnet has been shortlisted in the Masterplans & Area Strategies category. Grenadier House retirement housing in Westminster for PegasusLife and The John Morden Centre a day care in Blackheath for Morden College have both been shortlisted in the Wellbeing category. Whilst two of our Croydon schemes have been recognised in the Housing shortlist as part of the Croydon Smaller sites joint submission by Brick by Brick. Winners and commended schemes will be announced at the annual NLA Lunch on the 5th of July.
